Silk is one of the earliest animal fibers used by humans, and has a unique drape and neighing effect. However, due to the poor water retention and relatively less hydroxyl of silk, the reactive dye inkjet printing has light color, low color fixation rate, poor pattern definition and other problems. In order to improve the image effect of inkjet printing and control the penetration of reactive dye ink on the surface of silk fabrics,it is necessary to surface treat the silk fabrics before ink-jet printing. In this study, different types of pretreatment agents were selected to process silk, then the color blocks and lines of different colors were printed on these fabrics. The color data, line precision and color fastness were tested, and the surface structure of the treated fabric was characterized by contact angle measuring instrument and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The reason and mechanism of improving the printing effect of silk fabric by surface pretreatment agent are discussed preliminarily, hoping to promote the industrial production and application of silk inkjet printing. The main contents are as follows:Sodium alginate(SA),sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC),sodium carboxymethyl starch(CMS),polyacrylamide(PAM),synthetic rubber,Octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride(OTAC),dodecyl dimethylamine oxide(OB-2)and carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl cellulose(CMHPC)were used to pretreat the surface of silk fabrics. It was found that compared with untreated silk fabrics, the effect of inkjet printing of silk fabrics was improved after treatment.Among them, the effect of polyacrylamide treatment agent was most obvious, and the apparent color depth of CMYK four color block of PAM treated fabric increased by 15.7?8.5?8.8and 9.7 respectively;Compared with the fabric modified by sodium alginate, the apparent color depth of CMYK four color block of the fabric treated by PAM increased by 2.1,2.6,3.4 and 4.2 respectively, indicating that PAM is more suitable for the pretreatment of silk fabric with reactive dye inkjet printing. The comparison of polyacrylamide surface treatment with different ionic properties and degree of hydrolysis found that the anionic polyacrylamide treatment agent with a 35% degree of hydrolysis was more conducive to improving the effect of reactive dye inkjet printing on silk fabrics.Compared with the traditional sodium alginate, the viscosity of anionic polyacrylamide with 35% degree of hydrolysis is reduced by 89%,which can form a continuous and thin membrane structure on the fabric surface. It was found that the K/S value and fine linewidth of the silk fabric pretreated by polyacrylamide increased by 20.7% and 38.2%;and the fixation rate was increased by 6%.The fabric's rubbing fastness and washing fastness reached or exceeded level 4.There was no significant difference in whiteness, color fastness and breaking strength, and the image effect was significantly improved. And it was found that the use of anionic polyacrylamide with 35% degree of hydrolysis pretreatment can not only improve the effect of reactive dye ink-jet printing of silk fabric, shorten the steaming time of printing process, but also provide a new idea for the urea free inkjet printing of silk fabric by reactive dye ink,and provide a technical way for the progress of clean printing and dyeing in silk textile industry.
