As a common information carrier,the bar code has been widely used in industrial production.Bar code recognition and detection technology based on machine vision is highly applied in modern cigarette production.A cigarette packing box weigh detecting management system based on code technology is designed in this paper for the cigarette factory,which includes upper computer,Siemens S7-1200 PLC,Siemens KTP1000 Basic color PN touch screen,Cognex DataMan302 x reader,METTLER-TOLEDO weighing instrument series of IND560,dynamic check weigher and photoelectric switch,etc.The identification of the box barcode is done by DataMan 302 x reader.The Profinet communication is established between PLC and code reader to obtain the cigarette box name carried in the barcode.At the same time,the actual weight of the package obtained by the weighing instrument series of IND560 is transmits to the PLC through the dynamic weight detecting.Then the PLC compares the actual weight of the package with the target weight and removes the unqualified package from the production line.All data is saved to a local Access database for query and traceability.The main work is done in this paper as follow.(1)The types of one-dimensional codes is introduced.The composition,coding principle,verification method and decoding process of EAN-13 one-dimensional barcode are introduced.(2)The overall structure of the weight detecting management system is designed,and the hardware system is built.The Siemens PLC,METTLER-TOLEDO weighing instrument series of IND560 and Cognex DataMan 302 x reader are introduced briefly.The Siemens switch module was used to connect PLC,touch screen and code reader,while the PLC is connected with weighing instrument by RS-232 serial port.The PLC and the weighing instrument are connected by RS-232 serial port,and the PLC and the reader are communicated by Profinet.(3)PLC program,touch screen program and VB 6.0 based PC management program are developed.The comparation of bar code and the processing of weighing data are performed in the PLC program.The culling function is performed according to the comparation result.The PLC data is collected and processed by the upper computer through Modbus-RTU communication protocol,then the standard data is classified and stored in Access database.The system screen is made in the upper computer,which provides functions such as user login,permission setting,monitoring system operation,query historical data and so on to facilitate the practical application of the user.The weight detecting management system of cigarette package has been running stably in the cigarette factory for more than one year.The system compares the actual weight of the package with the set target weight,automatically rejects the unqualified product from the production line,and avoids it entering the market,reducing the number of The error rate increases the productivity of the company.
