Chloride ion is an important problem to be solved in the protection of iron cultural relics.Because of the small radius?strong penetrability and electronegativity,it can accelerate corrosion of iron cultural relics.Due to the change of preservative environment, the layer of corrosion will crack and expand rapidly after unearthed, and the metal will be rapidly corroded. Therefore, desalination and corrosion inhibition treatment are often regarded as two important processes in the protection of iron cultural relics. In this paper, based on the study of corrosion mechanism of iron cultural relics in Bashu area, the mechanism of chloride ion in corrosion process is discussed with reference to domestic literature. In view of the fact that a method of dechlorination and corrosion inhibition in aqueous solution systems are difficult to avoid or reduce the erosion of iron cultural relics by water in the process, the "micro-reaction pool" based on inverse microemulsion is put forward to reduce corrosion of iron cultural relics in the process of protection. In this paper,a new method of dechlorination and corrosion inhibition of iron cultural relics is constructed through experiments. In this paper,a method of dechlorination and corrosion inhibition of iron cultural relics is proposed, the dechlorination effificiency and the inhibition effificiency are evaluated by means of simulated experiments and concrete practice. The main works are as follows:(1)The corrosion products of iron cultural relics in Mianyang and Wushan are characterized and analyzed by XRD,IR,XRF,SEM,XPS and so on.The results show that:the rusty layer is mainly composed of unstable ?-FeOOH??-FeOOH,and the inner layer is composed of ?-FeOOH,magnetite(Fe3O4)and hematite(Fe2O3).It is revealed that chloride ion plays an important role in the corrosion of iron cultural relics.(2)The inverse microemulsion system is constructed by using ammonium molybdate and silver nitrate solution as aqueous phase. The traditional water washing method, the method of dechlorination in the inverse microemulsion and the one-step method of dechlorination and corrosion inhibition in the inverse microemulsion are studied by experiment. The results show that the dechlorination effificiency of the inverse microemulsion is better than that of the traditional water washing method.(3)In order to better understand the inhibition efficiency of the system, standard samples of Q 235 carbon steel and modern cast iron samples are used as simulated samples, sodium molybdate is chosen as corrosion inhibitor, and silane coupling agent(KH-570)is used to modify the surface of samples. Finally, the inhibition system of inverse microemulsion is used to treat simulated samples. The results show that:corrosion-inhibiting protective film is uniform?dense and hydrophobic;the inhibition efficiency up to 95.4%and decreases with the increase of the concentration of sodium molybdate.
