Research On British Environmental Protection Policy And Environmental Diplomacy

Britain has caused serious consequences for the consumption of global resources and environmental damage in developed countries since the Industrial Revolution.Britain as the first to enter the industrialization of the old capitalist power,its environmental problems have a long history.Correspondingly,Britain’s environmental protection history has been open for more than a century.With the extreme destruction of ecological environment by industrialization in various countries,the environmental problems between countries have risen to the international political angle in the second half of the20 th century,environmental diplomacy which has a certain influence on-international relations.Environmental diplomacy is different from political diplomacy and economic diplomacy.It is the main goal to reduce environmental pollution,maintain global ecological security,maintain biodiversity and achieve sustainable development.As a mature country in the field of environmental protection in the world,Britain has a complete environmental protection system,and its advanced environmental protection experience and technology have also become a necessary and sufficient condition for bilateral,regional and even global environmental cooperation.This paper is divided into five parts,the British environmental protection and environmental foreign policy is discussed.The cornerstone of a country’s environmental diplomacy comes from its own environmental policy,which has so far grown into a towering tree.The first part of the article mainly combs the British environmental protection policy development course and the characteristic.In the process of combing the context,the content of British policy is classified and introduced,and the characteristics and advanced experience of British environmental policy are summarized.The second part of the article begins to analyze the development and practice of British environmental diplomacy,through the examples of international environmental events to sort out the different periods of British environmental diplomacy development in stages.According to the history of environmental protection cooperation and the concrete examples of environmental diplomacy,the main ways to realize environmental diplomacy in Britain are summarized.The purpose of this chapter is to find out the shortcomings of British environmental diplomacy on the one hand,and to provide some lessons for other countries on the other.Then the article analyzes the causes of British environmental diplomacy.The third part of this paper discusses the motivation of British environmental diplomacy from the aspects of reality,ideology,political demand and objective environment.Through the induction and analysis of the contents of this chapter,British environmental diplomacy began to become three-dimensional from the plane.The author believes that a country’s experience in environmental diplomacy is accepted internationally,mainly because of its distinctive characteristics and distinctive role.On January 31,2020,the UK officially launched the EU stage,and Brexit has mixed advantages for the UK.In the field of environmental protection policy,the "Brexit" and "Leave" in Britain hold the opposite view.In my opinion,the post-Brexit UK,despite the pressure from the EU,has set aside a broader platform and fewer restrictions.In the first section of the last part of the article,the author gives a brief description of the viewpoint.Renewable clean energy meets the requirements of a low-carbon economy.Britain is not an eight-nation arctic country,but has been actively involved in arctic energy development,trying to take a slice of it."Global Britain" has never been an empty slogan," sustainable development "," low-carbon economy "," renewable energy " a series of key words attracted the UK more active posture to participate in the Arctic energy competition.Since the 19 th National Congress of the Party," ecological civilization construction " and " leading global climate governance " have become the regular words in the mouth of the government and the media.China is in a period of rising economic growth,and problems such as environmental pollution and excessive greenhouse gas emissions still exist.The last section of this paper analyzes the win-win situation of Sino-British environmental protection cooperation from the point of view of Sino-British environmental protection cooperation,and suggests that China-British cooperation should be carried out on a larger scale on the existing basis to jointly contribute to global environmental governance.
