Eu Environmental Policy And Environmental Diplomacy

As an integrated regional organization, the environmental cooperation of European Union include the internal environmental policy, the environmental cooperation between member countries and the environmental diplomacy launched by EU as a whole. The environmental protection of European Union and its member countries has a long history. They have accumulated lots of experience in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology and Environmental Management. Since the 1970s, European Union has established its environmental protection institution and can-ied out several action plans of environmental protection. Member countries have reached an agreement on environmental issues and improved the environment condition by carrying out same environmental policy and taken same measures. EU has solved the multinational environmental issues by negotiation, cooperation and efficient policy functioning system, which has let the environmental policy of EU develop. It gives other regional organization the experience on environmental protection. EU paid attention to the environmental cooperation with other countries and launched environmental diplomacy at early time. As a whole EU has wide cooperation with other developed countries, international organizations and developing countries. EU plays an important role in international environmental field and promotes the global and regional environment cooperation.In conclusion, the environmental diplomacy of EU has fonned its special paten: the same environmental policy of member countries, wide cooperation with developed countries and aid to developing countries on environlnental issues. The responsible attitude of EU has established good image and enhanced the status in global environmental treatment.
