The velocity of fragments and the distribution rules of the velocity are the key to study the power effects of the warhead and analyze the rules of the fragments flying.Modern weapons systems require higher and higher demands and measurement accuracy on fragment velocity.The most used domestic fragmentation velocity measurement method still uncovers the conventional weapons and projectile velocity measurement method,the main use of distance measurement method,using the measurement device composed by the cut-off device,the timing device and the data acquisition system.As the physical quantity of velocity is a mathematical derived parameter,there is no "standard" velocity source at present,therefore,there is no true standard velocity measurement system.In this paper,the method of fragment velocity measurement,the calibration of the fragment velocity measurement system and the current status of fragment loading device at home and abroad are reviewed,and the existing problems in each method are analyzed.The overall design scheme of the fragment velocity calibration system is put forward.The fragment high-velocity loading device is designed to accelerate the projectile with the mass of less than 50g to 1500m/s?2000m/s.The standard projectile with simulated fragment is designed,the calibration system of the fragment velocity measurement device is built to research the fragment velocity system calibration method.The data obtained from the calibration experiment are processed.The feasibility of the fragment loading device,the flight stability of the simulated projectile and the calibration results of the velocity measuring system are analyzed,which show that the designed high-velocity loading device is in stable state for launching fragments.The simulated projectile has good flight stability and linear attenuation in the air trajectory.The uncertainty of calibration system of fragment velocity measurement device is less than 0.1%.All above show that this method can calibrate the existing conventional velocity measurement device while meeting the requirements of mass transfer.
