In the 1980s,the American engineer,Geiger,put forward a new-type,practical,large-span spatial hinge joint system,namely the cable dome structure.The cable dome is characterized by reasonable load-carrying,light dead weight,low cost,and beautiful appearance.The past decades have witnessed great strides made by the cable dome.In the future,the structural system will embrace an even brighter future.Carbon fiber composite(CFRP)is an advanced composite material with a light weight,high strength,fatigue resistance,corrosion resistance,etc.Apart from gaining favor from the military,aviation and aerospace field,CFRF has also found increasingly wide applications in various engineering structures in recent years.However,there has not yet been any research attempt to apply CFRP to the cable dome structure.Therefore,the natural science fund project in this paper represents the first attempt to do so.Combining the Geiger-type CFRP cable dome static test,confirmation and static performance of the initial prestressing force of the CFRP cable dome are analyzed.This research work of this paper mainly consists of the following aspects.During the process of the cable dome model making,installation,and exertion of the prestressing force,many errors can be caused.Therefore,the experimental model slightly differs from the ideal cable dome model adopted for analytical computation in terms of the dimensions,node coordinates and initial prestressing force.On the experimental basis,the Geiger-type CFRP cable dome flawed model is built.Compared with the ideal model,the CFRP flawed model is closer to the real cable dome structure in the experiment.ANSYS iteration is used to work out the initial prestressing force of the CFRP flawed model.The data obtained by the CFRP flawed model are compared with the computation results by the ideal model.Because of errors caused by various factors in the practical engineering process,the initial prestressing force of various components of the cable dome is slightly different from the computation value of the ideal model.Hence,research into the load-carrying performance of the cable dome with different initial prestressing force holds practical engineering significance.This research mainly examines the influence of changes of the prestressing force of the chine line,oblique line,loop line and compression bar on the cable pole internal force and node displacement of the Geiger-type CFRC cable dome.This paper also discusses changes of the internal stress and displacement of various cable poles under full load,half load,and a quarter load,respectively.On that basis,changes of the cable dome internal stress under different loads and at different initial prestressing forces are studied.Finally,failure analysis is conducted of the Geiger-type CFRP cable dome ideal model and flawed model,and the results obtained by the two models are comparatively analyzed.
