Research On Independent Innovation And R&D Performance Of Latecomer Enterprises In My Country

With the advancement of economic globalization and integration,innovation has become an important driving force for a country to improve its scientific and technological level and develop its productive forces.During the past 40 years of reform and opening up,with the super R&D ability and self-sufficient innovation ability,China’s late-developing enterprises not only remain invincible in the market competition,but also rank in the leading position in the world.Therefore,independent innovation R&D is very important for the development of China’s late-developing enterprises.Studying the ability of independent innovation of China’s late-developing enterprises is of great significance to help us understand the micro-mechanism of changing the mode of economic development,enrich relevant theories and improve the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises.This paper chooses Haier Group,a typical representative of the late-developing enterprises which have been focusing on independent innovation and R&D,and whose independent innovation has definite stage characteristics,as the case study object,and divides Haier Group’s independent innovation into three stages according to its growth process and R&D investment: technology introduction stage,secondary innovation stage and event analysis method.Primitive innovation stage.Using a comparatively comprehensive balanced scorecard and analytic hierarchy process(BSC-AHP),the R&D performance of Haier Group is measured from four perspectives: financial perspective,internal innovation perspective,learning and growth perspective,and stakeholder perspective.On this basis,the R&D performance of Haier Group in different stages of independent innovation is analyzed.This study can provide useful reference for other late-developing enterprises,help other late-developing enterprises to better understand the stage of their own independent innovation,and choose independent innovation methods suitable for their own development to improve R&D performance.This paper finds that: firstly,when the latecomer enterprises of our country enter the market,their independent innovation is mainly manifested by technology introduction;when the enterprises have certain production capacity,they begin to pay attention to independent innovation,which is the second innovation stage.The independent innovation in this stage is manifested by introducing technology and remodeling,and the investment of independent innovation in this stage is less.However,R&D performance is relatively high;when enterprises grow and invest more in R&D,they enter the original innovation stage,which is characterized by high R&D quality,large R&D investment,large number of R&D personnel,and high R&D performance.Second,the R&D performance of enterprises has a strong correlation with the stage of independent innovation.The different stages of independent innovation affect the R&D performance of enterprises.The more independent and mature the stage of independent innovation,the higher the R&D performance of enterprises.The most beneficial stage of independent innovation to improve R&D performance is the original innovation stage,in which both independent innovation and R&D performance grow rapidly.
