With the urgent need of human sustainable development,deep space exploration and utilization of planetary resources are of great significance.Since a large number of water ice and dry ice have been found on Mars,which means that there are living resources and energy resources,and the Mars base can be used as the frontier base for the development of asteroids in the main belt,as well as the construction of Mars base and the exploitation and utilization of Mars resources.Water ice / dry ice is the basic condition to establish the survival base,so the sampling and analysis of the ice on Mars is carried out first,and contact detection is the most direct and effective way.Compared with the sampling from earth surface exploration,the drilling resources on Mars are limited,and the initial exploration can only use unmanned operation mode,which puts forward higher requirements for the ability design of coring drilling tools on Mars,which not only should meet the light weight of Mars drilling and low power limits,but also to ensure reliable access to complete ice samples.In this paper,a high efficiency coring drilling tool for ice drilling is developed by taking water ice / dry ice as drilling object,obtaining ice samples reliably as target and taking minimum drilling power consumption as constraints.Because the drilling object-ice is very special,it is necessary to deeply study the physical and mechanical properties of ice,and grasp the relevant mechanical parameters of ice,such as Poisson's ratio,Young's modulus and so on;The failure mechanism of ice under cutting is studied,such as brittle failure,plastic failure and failure criterion.Since no report has yet been found on the ice extraction from Mars,we have fully used the polar ice drilling technology on the ground for reference,and have investigated and analyzed the electromechanical drilling tools that are widely used in ice drilling at present.On the basis of ground electromechanical drilling tools,according to the requirements of Martian water ice and coring characteristics,the cutting edge adopts the shape memory alloy of high elastic material and the transfer path of the slide track.The basic configuration of coring drilling tool is designed,which includes the aim of minimum cutting force load to ensure efficient drilling at the same time,the single tooth cutting force model of ice layer is established,and the front angle of cutting tool configuration parameter is obtained.The influence of width on cutting force.By using the finite element analysis software,the simulation study of the interaction process between bit and ice is carried out,and the 3D rotary cutting models of different groups of rake angle,clearance angle,width of cutting tool,tool head fillet radius and rotational speedare established.The cutting force load is obtained under different geometric parameters of cutting tool and drilling rules.According to the results of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation,the range of cutting tool's rake angle,clearance angle,width,tool head fillet radius and rotational speed are optimized.Finally,the single-edge cutting test of ice is carried out,which further verifies the effect of cutting tool rake angle on cutting force.
