Root is the most important organ of plant to absorb,stock and transport water and nutrient,which restrains the growth of the plant.Olive is sensitive to water and nutrient,so it is meaningful to research the characteristics of the rootlet,the organic carbon and N,P,K to the introduction and cultivation of Panxi region.5 olive varieties(Zhongze 6,Zhongze 8,Zhongze 10,Zhongze 12 and white olive)at different stages of seedling stage,infancy stage and big tree were chosen to be the research objects.Characteristics of the rootlet,and the nutrient change of carbon and N,P,K were researched,and offered the base for olive genetic improvement and high yield cultivation based on the analysis of correlation of olive with the soil condition at big tree stage.The results were as follows.1)Rootlet characteristics of different olive variety are different at different stage,and change accordance with the sequence of the root system.At the seedling stage,specific root length and specific surface area of different variety's rootlet have significant difference(p<0.05).At infancy stage,rootlet diameters at the 1st root system of different varietyhave significant difference(p<0.05).And the rootlet specific surface area has more significant difference at 2nd,3rd,and 4th root system(p<0.05).While rootlet specific length has significant difference at 1st,2nd,4th and 5th root system(p<0.05).Rootlet tissue densityhas significant difference at 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th root system(p<0.05).At big tree stage(full productive age),rootlet diameters at the 2nd root system of different varietyhave significant difference(p<0.05).And the rootlet specific surface area has more significant difference at 4th root system(p<0.05).While rootlet specific length has signiflcant difference at 3rd and 5th root system(p<0.05).2)Rootlet diameter,specific surface area,specific length and tissue density of all kinds of variety have close relation with the sequence of rootlet system,which is regular in a certain degree.Rootlet diameter and tissue density increase with the increase of rootlet system sequence.Specific surface area and specific length decrease with the increase of rootlet system sequence.That is the higher the sequence is the bigger diameter and tissue density are and the specific surface area and length is smaller.3)Nutrient contents are different in different varietyat different stage.The change regulations are almost the same of content of C,N,P and K in different olive variety's rootlet system sequence.The difference is not significant(p<0.05).In infancy and big tree stages(full productive age),Content of C in different variety's different rootlet system sequence increases with the sequence of rootlet system,but Content of N,P and K decrease with the increase of sequence of the rootlet system,but in the 5th rootlet system,content of P increases a little bit.Nutrient content changes in different olive variety's rootlet have more closely connected with the sequence of rootlet system at different growth period.Content of N has different performance for the variety and sequence problem.The difference of rootlet characteristics and the content of C,N,P and K at seedling stage,infancy stage and big tree stage(full productive age)of different variety shows that olive rootlet has strong plasticity.Olive rootlet's differentiation and division of labor is comparatively perfect,has different adaptive strategy to different stage and different environment,which provides some bases for olive introduction and cultivation work.At the same time,it shows that different variety has different ability to absorb the nutrient,transport and stock.Different variety should have different management technology in cultivation,and the different management technology also should be carried out in different stage for the same olive variety.Specific management is the key point to improve olive tree's growth and the yield.
