Purpose:To observe the clinical effect of external counterpulsation combined with traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on patients with unstable angina pectoris(Syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis)and the effect on serum nitric oxide(NO)and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),and to explore its mechanism. Methods:In this study,160 patients with unstable angina pectoris(phlegm and blood stasis type)who met the experimental requirements and participated in this reseaech study voluntarily were selected.Patients were randomly divided into two groups with 80 cases each. The control group was treated with routine western medicine and took Gelanxinning soft capsule orally. On this basis, the treatment group was combined with external counterpulsation technology, and the course lasted for 35 days. The basic data of the two groups were recorded, and the scores of angina symptom and TCM syndrome were counted before and after treatment. The changes of serum NO and MCP-1 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay before and after treatment. Results: 1.The effect of angina symptoms: After treatment, the angina symptoms of the two groups of patients were relieved compared with the previous ones. The total effective rate of the treatment group was 97.50%,which was significantly better than 93.67% of the control group(p <0.05).2.The effect of the TCM syndromes: After treatment, the TCM syndromes of the two groups of patients were relieved compared with the previous ones. The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.25%,which was significantly better than 92.41% of the control group(p <0.05).3.Serum NO levels: After treatment, the serum NO levels of the patients were higher than before, and the elevation effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group(p <0.01).4.Serum MCP-1 levels: After treatment, the serum MCP-1 levels of the patients were lower than before, and the reduction effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group(p <0.01).5.Safety:No serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups, and the treatment plan was safe and effective. Conclusions: 1.On the basis of Chinese and Western Medicine, combined with External counterpulsation can significantly relieves the symptoms of angina pectoris and traditional Chinese medicine.2.The mechanism of external counterpulsation combined with Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris may be related to the regulation of the serum NO and MCP-1by the improvement of endothelial function and the inhibition of inflammatory response.3.On the basis of Chinese and Western Medicine, combined with External counterpulsation provides a safer and more effective comprehensive treatment plan for patients with unstable angina pectoris.
