After May 4^th Movement,there exist clear flows under the theme of salvation,such as White Horse Lake writers.It originated from Zhejiang 1^th Normal School,gathered in White Horse Lake,thrived in LiDa Academy,but disappeared in the War—period.The group represented by Xia Mianzun,Feng Zikai and Zhu Ziqing,wrote social phenomena with warmth of ink,shown solicitude for the folk with the sentiment of the benevolent,and meditated on the future with wisdom.On the other hand,they were so unique in the fields of literature,education and publish that they had made great efforts for the new culture construction.In the transition period of old and new ideas,their serious character of"think not to be radical"and"seek progress not to be attractive"started unique roads in the war.This paper attempts to re—examine the writers'works and cultural practice through the polymerization,discrete of the groups,and then discuss how to be peace in numerous world,as well as the issue of why they could be the trinity of cultural activities in creation,teaching and edition.Lastly,it responds to the practice of intellectuals in the market—cultural ecology after 1980s.This paper is divided into four parts.The Chapter One narrates the formation path of"White Horse Lake Writers",describes how the group became"like—minded"in the space—time dimension and comprehends the spiritual character as a cultural group.The Second Chapter focuses on the identity of authors:grasps the unity of"collective common"and"special character"of literature,interprets the inherent personality different from other literary genres,and further proves that the intellectual group insists on the enlightenment complex and the intelligence reflection in the position of the folk.The Third Chapter expounds the writers'commitment to education and publication in the wave of changing times,then adds the value of education and new culture.The Fourth Chapter attempts to clarify how the intellectuals represented by the"White Horse Lake Writers"changed the status from"literati"to be the unity of identity in literature,education and publication after the May 4^thMovement,and then tries to reveal the unique cultural characters between White Horse Lake Writers and left—wing intellectuals in political reform in the market environment.And then tries to provide the reference value for the present cultural and literature construction.
