On Chen Yingzhen's Novel Creation

Chen Yingzhen is Taiwan's famous author,whose representative works include "My brother Kang Xiong" "The General family" "Zhongxiao Park" and so on,his novels attract lots of attention for its' rich connotation and exquisite artistic skills.The paper takes all his novels as the research object,focus on subject matter,theme,character image,artistic features and the reason of formation.This paper is divided into four chapters except introduction and conclusion.The first chapter combs the ideological content of Chen's novels.From the theme of creation,it can be summarized as:the confrontation between ideal and reality,"provincial" and cross-strait issues,war,transnational enterprises,white terrorist incidents,etc.Then we analyze the text theme of Chen's novels:death complex,redemptive repentance,religious spirit,humanitarian care and the insistence of national identity.The third segment mainly combs the characters'image in the novel,it can be divided into "anguish and confusion" intellectual,"nuts",or"mental illness" patients,the participants of the multinational capital,"shine the light of the ideal of" revolutionaries and veteran,total five types of image.The second chapter analyzes the artistic characteristics of Chen's novels.It is the main feature of his novels to take realism as the base color and rationally absorb symbols,stream of consciousness and other modern techniques.In terms of artistic structure,Chen tries to use chapter to write modern novels.In addition,the blending of words and style,the combination of personal and other narrative techniques,and the adaptation of bible stories and myths are also the main features of his novels.Chen's novel language also has its own characteristics.First of all,there are some ancient texts and usage of words.Secondly,Influenced by the western language culture,there will also be the European tendency of inversion and passivity in the sentence syntax.The poetic language has filled his novels with a lyrical and sentimental tone.The third chapter mainly discusses several aspects,include the formation reason of the novel,the influence of frustration experience,Lu Xun left-wing tradition and critical spirit and the Christian culture.The last chapter objectively evaluates the unique value of Chen and his novels in Chinese literary circles.Chen is the inheritor of the literary tradition of the May fourth literary,and is the loyal chronicler of Taiwan's contemporary history,but at the same time,there are problems such as repetition and incoherence in his novels.
