Calligraphy,especially the early Tang Dynasty,occupies an important historical position in the history of Chinese calligraphy,which not only absorb the tradition of the Six Dynasties,but contribute to the nest generation in terms of the calligraphic style of Song Dynasty and Tang Dynasty,theoretical works,and the reform of the forms and techniques.and which Focus on the development of calligraphy during this period.The calligraphic style of the early Tang Dynasty showed a variety of developments based on the integration of North and South,and especially the trend of the "worship of Wang".The trend of "Worship of Wang" has risen from the time of the Emperor of WuDi,who is ruler of the Southern Dynasties to the early Tang dynasty.Qu Shinan,Ou Yangxun and Yan Liang were especially praised by the Emperor of TaiZong.This makes Wang Xizhi’s calligraphy style occupy the mainstream position in the scholastic preparations in the early Tang Dynasty.The prosperity of the "worship of Wang" phenomenon in the early Tang Dynasty was closely related to the historical background,aesthetic style,religious beliefs,and the preferences of the emperors,which is of a profound influence on the development of calligraphy and set the position of "ShuSheng" in the history of calligraphy.This dissertation is divided into four chapters based on the prosperity of the phenomenon of "worship of Wang" in the early Tang Dynasty.The first chapter,preliminary combing and sorting historical materials about the emperors’ respect for Wang Xizhi’ calligraphic style;The second deeply discusses the background of the prosperity of the" worship of Wang " phenomenon in the early Tang Dynasty from the fusion of North and South cultures,the penetration of religious and aesthetic ideas,and the needs of the regime.The third chapter analyzes the status of the diversified development of the calligraphy styles.The fourth chapter research the promotional roles played by the Northern and Southern Calligraphy based on "Two Wang" and Weibei on the prosperity of the early Tang Dynasty calligraphy.,and discusses the far-reaching influence of the Tang Dynasty calligraphy development on the later style of calligraphy.The phenomenon of "worship of Wang" was continuously discussed by the academc community.This thesis focuses on the diversified development of the calligraphy,the vigorous promotion of the "worship of Wang" style by the emperor of Taizong,which comprehensively sort out the line of the "worship of Wang" style in this period in order to explore the diversely developmental trajectory of calligraphy creation in the early Tang Dynasty.
