Li Rihua was a famous writer,calligrapher and painter and connoisseur in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.In the late Ming Dynasty,under the influence of the trend of personality emancipation,great changes took place in the field of calligraphy,and calligraphy creation tended to publicize personality.In the face of social reality,Li Rihua,after careful consideration,insisted on inheriting the tradition and advocated the study of the ancient law.At the same time,he did not ignore the mainstream thought and put forward the performance of the spirit under the premise of studying ancient times.His calligraphy thought not only embodies the characteristics of the times,but also has its own uniqueness.This article is a study of Li Rihua's calligraphy thought.The first part explores the causes of Li Rihua's calligraphy thought.Under the influence of current situation and social environment,Li Rihua's thought is bound to have the characteristics of the times.However,his own character seems incompatible at that time.The calligraphy thought is produced under such collision.The second part is to discuss Li Rihua's calligraphy thought.Li Rihua advocated the worship of ancient grouted,"imitation",and that the calligraphy can be the performance of the soul.He attached great importance to calligraphy in the Jin and Tang Dynasties,taking Wang Xizhi's calligraphy as an example;while advocating natural style of ancient seal.Li Rihua advocated that calligraphy should have personal style and put forward "imitation".In addition,he also thinks that calligraphy is expressive,that is,calligraphy can express people's heart and temperament,and therefore requires calligraphers to read more,improve their cultural accomplishment,and achieve an extraordinary realm.The third part examines the influence of Li Rihua's calligraphy thoughts.
