A Study On The Songwriting Style Of The African-Danish Singer Moussa Diallo

This article used the theory of Ethnomusicology to research music of Moussa Diallo,that a musician who emigrated from Mali to Denmark.Moussa Diallo is a famous bass player,singer and composer in Europe.Born February 17th 1955 in Paris,France.Brought up in Bamako,Mali and currently residing in Copenhagen,Denmark.Moussa connects Mali to the world by his especial fusion style of music.His style of music represents a possibility of world music development,and it's a good research object of Ethnomusicology.Methods employed include documentation and music analysis.The documentation is about personal home page of Moussa and other literature that including Danish music,Mali music,jazz,rock and roll,blues,R&B music,etc.The music analysis is about appreciation of Moussa's album,and communication with Moussa himself.The article contains three parts:The firs part of the article is about Moussa Diallo's biography until the end of 2017.The second part is about creation style of Moussa Diallo.A total of three styles,funk,R&B,and traditional Mali.The third part is about the multi-cultural society values of Moussa Diallo.At present,there are relatively few researches on the music culture of immigrants in Europe and especially in Nordic countries.And at the same time,the influence of the creation and performance from immigrant musicians is increasing.The influence is not limited to the small,single immigration community.These foreign musicians are naturally integrated into the local cultural.Their music is well received by local people.With the cultural exchanges between them,new changes have taken place in the music culture of immigrants and locals.These changes are worthy of our attention.In short,analyzing music of Moussa Diallo,comparison of his music creation in different periods,and analyzing the development trend of Moussa's music.Those researches could prove some trends of world music development in the current cultural environment.
