Research On Modal Particles In "The Light Of Forked Road"

As a very important word class of Chinese,modal particles serve as one of the most important means of mood expressions in Chinese.According to the history of the development of Chinese modal particles,Chinese modal particles are of obvious characteristics in both times and regions.The modal particles in modern Chinese are different from those in the ancient and medieval times,and they are closely related to the modal particles of modern Chinese.In other words,contemporary Chinese modal particles evolved from the development of modern Chinese modal particles.It can be said that the period of modern Chinese,especially the later period of modern Chinese,was the direct source of modal particles in modern Chinese.Li Lu Yuan's vernacular fiction Qi Lu Deng created in the middle of the Qing dynasty has a rich background of Henan dialects.There are not only a small number of ancient and medieval Chinese words used in ancient books but a large number of new modal particles which came into being during the modern Chinese period with a distinctive color of Henan dialects.Therefore,Qi Lu Deng is recognized as good materials for studying the modal particles of modern and contemporary Chinese.Therefore,this paper implies the modal particles in Qi Lu Deng as the research object with meticulous analysis over the modality particles in detail.Based on the comprehensive description of the system of modal particles appeared in Qi Lu Deng,which has a clear regional coloration for some modal particles.As a result,modal particles were analyzed in synchronic and diachronic terms.This article consists of five parts:The first part is introduction,which mainly introduced the research object of this article and the literature corpus,the current research status of modal particles,the research value and significance of the modal particles in Qi Lu Deng,the research content and methods.The second part is aimed at the study of vernacular modal particles in Qi Lu Deng.Based on the number of syllables required to form a modal phrase,this part divides monosyllabic modality and polysyllabic modality: monosyllable modal particles and polysyllable modal particles.For each of the modal particles,the source and usage are mainly discussed.Based on this,through synchronic and diachronic comparisons,we explored the relationship among the modality particles in the modality of the modality,the similarities and differences between the ambiguous words in Qi Lu Deng and the modern Chinese modal particles,and the use of individual modality words in modern dialects.The third part is the study of the classical modal particles of Qi Lu Deng.The use of the classical modal particles in Qi Lu Deng is less commonly used,which is mainly an antique usage.This section analyzes these classical modal particles one by one.The fourth part is the study of the co-use of modal particles and modal particles in Qi Lu Deng.This section is based on the use of the modal particles related to De(?),the use of modal particles related to Le(?),the use of modal particles related to Ba(?),and the use of modal particles related to Hu(?)/Zai(?)together in four aspects.Analyze the use of modal particles in conjunction.The fifth part is the conclusion.This part mainly summarizes the main characteristics of modal particles in Qi Lu Deng,points out the inadequacies of this article,and proposes future research directions.
