China's rapidly developing economy and growing national strength are attracting more and more attention to China and the Chinese language.As a result,Chinese language promotion in China has been developed from Chinese as a foreign language many years ago to the current Chinese international education.This change indicates that the number of Chinese learners is increasing.As Chinese learners are increasingly enriched,children learners become an integral part of them.Due to the particularity of physical and psychological development of children learners,it is necessary to develop Chinese teaching materials specifically for children.But over a very long period of time,the number of children's second language textbooks in our country is much lower than that of adult second language textbooks.Its development rate is lagging behind.In contrast,English learning has been very strong in the world since the last century.After the reform and opening up to the new century,English learning has received a great deal of attention in China.Therefore,children's English education has been developing well in China,including teaching philosophy,teaching methods and teaching materials research and development.It is well known that children's language teaching material is the important carrier of language teaching activities,its quality will affect children's language learning results.This article makes detailed analysis and comparison of the children's versions of the two sets of textbooks "Easy Steps to Chinese" and "English"through multiple perspectives.It is hoped that by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two,they will learn from each other and we can get some inspiration and help for writing more scientific and outstanding children language textbooks.This can promote the development of children's Chinese second language teaching materials.This paper mainly adopts the textual research method,and carries on the text analysis for the two sets of children's foreign language learning materials of "Easy Steps to Chinese"(children's edition)and "English".By comparing and summarizing the surface structure and various parts of the textbook in detail,as well as detailed analysis and in-depth observation of the text,we conclude some similarities and differences between the two in the compilation and design,and make an analysis of the findings.Among the aspects involved are the preparation of textbooks,the structure of textbooks,the content of textbooks,and the binding of materials,illustrations,and supporting resources of teaching materials.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which gives the significance of the research,introduces the research object,the research method,and lists some of the previous research results.In the second part,the author analyzes and compares the principles and the structural aspects of the two textbooks,summarizes the common points of the two sets of textbooks,and determines the general principles for the compilation of children's textbooks.The third part makes a comparative analysis of the content of the two textbooks,including the setting of the topic content of the textbook,the setting of vocabulary,the design of consolidation exercises and the introduction of culture.In the fourth part,the two sets of textbooks are compared and analyzed in binding design and illustration,focusing on the correlation between these external contents and the content of the teaching materials.In addition,a simple comparison is made between the supporting resources of the two sets of teaching materials,focusing on whether the supporting resources of the teaching materials can play an adequate supplementary and facilitating role in language teaching.The last part is the conclusion of the dissertation.Based on the conclusion of the comparative analysis,this part puts forward some suggestions for the improvement of the two sets of textbooks for "Easy Stets to Chinese" and "English",and draws some inspirations on how to write children's second language textbooks.
