Teacher directive is the language used by teachers to teach and organize the class.Teachers can use it to explain the content of teaching activities,and can also instruct students' behaviors.If teachers can use directives reasonably and effectively,it will enable students to complete learning tasks efficiently,ensure classroom efficiency,and enable students to master the language better.This thesis mainly studies from the following parts.The first part is the introduction.The author firstly expounds the reasons for the research from three aspects: the requirements of the new English curriculum standard,the important role of teacher directive in teaching and the improvement of English classroom teaching in primary schools.Secondly,the author expounds the theoretical and practical significance of the research.Then,the author summarizes the literatures about teacher directive at home and abroad.At last,this paper discusses the research method of this research.The second part elaborates the core concept and theoretical foundation of the research.First of all,the author summarizes the definition of teacher directive defined by domestic and foreign scholars,then the author obtains the definition of teacher directive in this paper.Secondly,The author elaborates the theoretical basis of this study,code-switching theory and comprehensible input theory,to determine the theoretical framework for the research.The third part is about the current situation investigation and analysis of English teacher directive in primary school.The author selected five primary school English teachers and students of their classes as respondents.The author used classroom recording,classroom observation and interviews to conduct the research.In addition,the author analyzed the directive usage from language form,language features and language function features these three aspects,and discussed the interview results from the perspective of both teachers and students.The fourth part analyzes the problems and causes of English teacher directive in primary school.The author analyzes the main problems in of English teacher directive in primary school with specific teaching cases: too much Chinese directive,obscure directive,wrong usage,tedious directive,teacher's error judgment these five aspects.The author thinks that the reasons of the problems mainly focus on language literacy,on-the-job training,independent development and reflection consciousness,physical and mental characteristics of students these four aspects.The fifth part is the optimization strategy analysis of English teacher instruction in primary school.Based on the results of research on the current situation of usage,the author put forward the following optimization strategies.Firstly,from the aspects of teachers,primary school English teachers should strengthen the understanding of teacher directive and their ownprofessional development.Secondly,from the perspective of students' body and mind development,the author gives some suggestions on optimizing directives.Finally,from the relevant departments,it is believed that relevant departments should carry out targeted training.
