Human communication can be subdivided into verbal and nonverbal communication.Nonverbal communication is an important part of intercultural communication.Through nonverbal communication, people can understand what others express and also understand their culture. However;because of the different cultural backgrounds, social norms, habits and other factors, barriers in non-verbal communication exist. This is a normal phenomenon caused by cultural differences in human interaction.China and Thailand belongs to the Asian cultural circle, and are both known as "land of ceremony and propriety",but there are many nonverbal communication barriers in the process of communication between these two countries. From the perspective of a Thai, this paper compares etiquette in nonverbal communication between China and Thailand from the representative aspects of people's daily life, such as basic etiquette, behavior clothing and color.By comparing similarities and differences in nonverbal communication, and finding out the cultural reasons for differences between China and Thailand,we may help the Chinese and Thai people be more smooth, unobstructed and natural in their process of communication. And also give suggestions to volunteer Chinese teachers who have been to Thailand,to help them adapt and integrate to the Thai culture,so that they might feel more comfortable working and living in Thailand.
