| Psychological speech process in Chinese cognition will be reflected in the process of Chinese character recognition and processing.In the field of modern psychology,the study of Chinese characters has gradually matured and achieved a lot of research results.In most of the studies,it has been found that there are differences in the recognition processing of printed characters with different fonts.In addition,because there are relatively few studies on handwritten characters which are rare in life and have more changeable fonts at present,in order to find the differences between printed and handwritten characters in the process of recognition and processing,and to explore the main factors that cause the differences between the two types of characters in more detail,two eye movement experiments were designed to explore these differences.The purpose of this study is to find out the differences in the reading performance of sentences in different fonts.Experiments 1 mainly explored the differences between the two types of fonts in Song Dynasty and Xing-kai Dynasty.Two types of fonts and word frequencies were used as independent variables to collect the overall eye movement indicators: total reading time of reading sentences,average fixation duration,scanning times;and partial eye movement indicators: total fixation time on target words,first fixation duration and fixation times as the reasons variables.In experiment 2,three types of fonts and word frequency were used as independent variables,and the dependent variables were the same as those in experiment 1.After sorting out and analyzing the experimental data and results of Experiment 1 and 2,we draw the following conclusions:(1)The difference between Chinese characters does affect the recognition process,which is mainly reflected in the obvious difference in the overall eye movement indicators in Experiment 1 and experiment 2;(2)the influence of word frequency on the recognition process of different characters is different.The difference of local eye movement index between experiment 1 and Experiment 2 is mainly reflected in experiment 1.The interaction between font condition and word frequency is also found in experiment 1.However,the data of Experiment 2 shows that there is no obvious interaction between font and word frequency of handwritten characters,which indicates that word frequency,has different effects on handwritten and printed characters,and also reflects handwritten characters from side.The difference between character recognition and printed character recognition.(3)The multi-level Gestalt bidirectional processing model can give a good explanation to the recognition and processing of handwritten characters.In this study,eye movement technology is used to explore the process of character recognition and processing in the two aspects of character shape and word frequency.It involves the study of handwritten characters,deepens the study of Chinese characters,makes the angle of character research more diversified,and helps deepen people’s attention to handwritten characters,and further promotes the development of students’ learning of Chinese character writing.Therefore,this study will be helpful to the future application of handwritten words in education,teaching and daily life. |
