Negation is an important grammatical and semantic category shared by all mankind. There are negative expressions in any language.Negative adverbs "?" and "?(?)" are the most frequently used adverbs in Chinese, and they are much more complex in semantics, collocation and syntax than in English.Because of the complexity of Chinese itself and the negative transfer of mother tongue when students express negatively, many Chinese learners whose mother tongue is English use "?" and "?(?)" to form negatives.Various errors often occur in arrival time.As the most frequently used negative words in English are "no" and "not",this paper chooses to compare "?" and "?(?)" in Chinese with "no" and "not" in English, and summarizes their differences, hoping to help us find out the causes of students' errors.Of course, besides "no" and "not",there are a lot of other negative words and affixes that can express negative meanings in English. In Chinese, negative words are not only "?" and "?(?)".But because we can't do everything,we just hope to understand the characteristics and differences of negation between languages by using "???(?)" and "no?not".Based on the results of previous studies, this paper analyses the characteristics of "?,?(?),not" and "no,not" from the perspectives of semantics, syntactic position and collocation, respectively, starting from the ontology of Chinese and English, and then compares their characteristics and summarizes the differences. Finally, the Chinese negative words "?" and "?(?)" are compared with the English negative words "no" and "not".Finally,by sending questionnaires to native Chinese learners, this paper summarizes and summarizes the errors that students tend to make when using Chinese, and analyses the reasons for the errors. Finally,it puts forward some suggestions for classroom teaching. If teachers of Chinese as a foreign language have a good understanding of students' errors before teaching, they will help students to avoid many detours in Chinese learning and greatly improve the efficiency of Chinese learning.
