After entering the 1960 s,America was severely bothered by the "Drug Abuse" for the second time where many people addicted to drugs.During his term as president of America,Ronald Wilson Reagan promulgated a number of anti-drug related bills to cope with the drug abuse problem,which proved to be effective and thereby contributed to the reduction in the number of drug addicts in American Society in the late 1980 s and early 1990 s.The article includes three parts.Discussion on the drug abuse in American society and reasons thereof before Reagan came into power,that is,from 1960 s to 1980 s,and the analysis of the background of issuance of the anti-drug policies by Reagan Administration are given in the first part.That on the laws promulgated by the Reagan Administration against the drug problem in America at that time is given in the second part.That on the characteristics of the Reagan Administration's anti-drug policies and their impact on American society and people concerned is given in the third part.It can be seen by the above discussion on the background,reasons,contents and impact of the Reagan Administration's anti-drug policies that in view of the increasingly severe drug problem in America,American society has gradually raised its awareness and that the American Government has changed its attitude towards the problem.
