Step By Step Chinese Intensive Chinese-Intermediate is a set of new generation teaching material which was published by Sinolingua in 2004,with Mr.Zhou Xiaobing as the chief editor.Which is designed for the foreign students who have studied Chinese in full-time schools for one year(about 800 class hours).At present the study of these teaching material is not too much.In this paper,the author makes an objective investigation and analysis of the textbook by referring to the outline of the authoritative Chinese textbook in China,summarizes its features,points out its shortcomings and gives the corresponding amendmentsThis paper analyzes and studies the contents of the textbook Step By Step Chinese Intensive Chinese-Intermediate,including vocabulary,grammar project,text and practice.Based on the research of the textbook,the author found that the text subject of the textbook was varied,but it was far from the real life of overseas students.There are much more practice,but most of them focus on the language knowledge.The number of new words and grammar project is inconsistent with the outline,the proportion of class distribution is unreasonable,and there are many beyond the teaching syllabus parts.In view of the above shortcomings,the author also provides corresponding suggestions,hoping to provide some suggestions for the revision of this textbook and the compilation of other intermediate comprehensive textbooks.
