As a newly arising concept in recent years in the areas of learning Chinese as asecond language, the concept of lexical chuck hasn't been popularly accepted by a lotof scholars and teachers. In fact, the theory of lexical chuck starts from the westernlinguistics. So there are a lot of related researches overseas, especially in those whichuse it in the second language teaching(English, etc.)However, in China, there are littleconcerns about the theory of lexical chunk, and the related researches are also veryfew. This paper is based on the “lexical chunks” in the textbooks of teaching Chineseas a second language. By referring to the “lexical chunks” and its characteristics,categories, and functions, I took deep researches and analyses to the use of “lexicalchunks” in the textbook of Step by Step Chinese Intermediate Intensive Reading byPro. Zhou Xiaobin. And I think that during the editing of the textbook, the editoremphasizing a lot on the use of “lexical chunks”, which is very beneficial for studentsto study Chinese. In the end of the paper, I took some researches to the teachers andstudents in the internship school, analyzing the using status of “lexical chunk”theories in teachers and students. By comparing teaching Chinese as a secondlanguage and the researches to the teachers and student, I think the “lexical chunk”theory is still a new thing in teaching Chinese as a second language, but it hasimportant meaning to it. I hope the “lexical chunk” theory can be widely used inteaching Chinese as a second language so that more teachers and students can realizethe importance of “lexical chunks” so as to improve the development of teachingChinese as a second language.
