Due to the unique natural conditions of the United States, since the colonists entered the North American continent, they have formed a human-centered concept of nature, constantly conquering nature and destroying nature. With the deepening of the westward movement, the destruction of nature caused by industrialization and urbanization has aroused people's attention.People have to rethink the relationship between human and nature. The rise of the resource conservation movement and the natural resource protection movement finally led to the climax of the first environmental movement in American history in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In this context,Organic Act was promulgated in 1916,and the national park system in the United States was initially established.1916-1933 was the formation period of the American national park system. The achievements of the national park system during this period were impressive, but still faced a serious ecological crisis and economic crisis.By 1933,President Franklin Roosevelt had signed two executive orders and the national park system was formally formed. From 1933 to 1940,along with the wave of the second environmental movement in the history of the United States and the Roosevelt New Deal, the national park system developed and expanded at an unprecedented rate. This paper focuses on the ideological roots and social background of the great development of the US national park system during this period,as well as the National Park Service, the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Public Works Administration, and the Works Progress Administration and other departments play an important role in the development of the national park system. In order to analyze the impact of the national park system covers resource protection, economic recovery, historical protection, cultural education and other aspects, and has far-reaching significance on the US environmental protection and social development after World War II.
