Paintings with mineral and metallic materials as the medium are called heavy color paintings in China.Heavy color paintings include frescoes, silk paintings, rock paintings and traditional Chinese painting Silk painting of figures on dragons and phoenixes, unearthed from changsha, hunan province,is the earliest painting on cloth and the embryonic form of early heavy color painting.Heavy colored painting reached its peak in the sui and tang dynasties. With the spread and development of buddhist culture,Chinese Buddhism and buddhist painting were introduced to Japan,The painting techniques and materials of heavy color paintings were brought to Japan, and these materials and techniques became the basis of traditional Japanese painting materials and techniques.Traditional heavy-color painting materials and techniques have developed into Japanese painting with Japanese national characteristics after more than ten centuries, but with the rise of freehand brushwork,heavy-color paintings in China gradually faded out of people's vision after the Song and Yuan Dynastie. In order to pursue the essence of traditional heavy-color painting, many painters went to Japan to study abroad and brought back the traditional techniques of heavy-color painting, which attracted wide attention all over the country. With the development of economic globalization, culture and art have been widely exchanged and respected in the world.Nowadays contemporary heavy-color painters are based on traditional materials and techniques, while actively accepting new materials in Japanese painting, focusing on the use of new materials and techniques, and striving to achieve breakthroughs in painting language and composition. When I was an undergraduate student,I learned Meticulous Brushwork mainly based on light color.Light color often fails to achieve the desired effect when expressing the feeling of heavy in the picture.I also know little about the use of other materials. When I was a graduate student,I learned heavy color painting techniques to make up for the lack of light color painting materials in expressing the sense of heaviness of the picture. In my graduation stage,I intend to use the mineral and metal materials I have learned to express the mottled sense of historical vicissitudes of Angkor Wat.
