The Mind Of The Rebel-Li Xiaoxuan's Art Development And Style Formation Research

As a representative painter of modern urban freehand figure paintings,Li Xiaoxuan has created a number of critical realist paintings that represent modern urban life as early as the 1990 s,such as “The Big Car”,“Naked Noise” and “Stocks Exchange”.The main purpose of this paper is to explore the context of the development of Li Xiaoxuan's art,and the factors that contribute to his works.This paper comprehensively analyzes the background of the times that Li Xiaoxuan lives in,the family and character of him,the mentoring relationships on his road to study and the transformation of his art pursuit direction.And fully understand the artist's innovative ideas through the journals reviews,the survey of albums,Li's personal statement and interviews.Fortunately,in November 2018,I had an access to participated in a series of lecture entitled “The Hands of Masters” organized by Xi'an Academy of Arts and met Mr.Li in person.During this five-day period,I listened to his painting experience,life circumstances,painting exploration,artistic attitude and communication with students,I also experienced his live demonstrations.This activity gave me an opportunity to appreciate the elegant demeanor of Li Xiaoxuan,which confirmed my previous judgment on him,and also played a great role in my paper writing.My research on Li Xiaoxuan's artistic works is also a solution to my confusion and problems in my art creation,and at the same time,it combs my own thought of art.
