Redesign Of Traditional Fonts In The Context Of Digital Technology

Today,with the improvement of software technology,the font design process is basically completed on the computer,the public reading media gradually turned to digital media,the design tools and environment completely changed,the re-carved font still base on old glyphs and style,It also has some limitations in its use,which leads to the author's thinking.In the engraving era,because of the nicking tool,calligraphic font changes,which made the new text vision like Song font.However,in the new digital technology context,what new changes should traditional fonts have?The change must be related to the new tools and new requirements in the context of digital media,what make the new change on the visual effect.This paper is just to do this discussion.This paper includes six chapters.The first chapter introduces the research ideas and methods,research purposes and significance,and research status of domestic and overseas.The second chapter begins with the interaction between the fonts and the writing tools.And describes the relationship between brush and calligraphy font,the relationship between nicking tool and printed fonts.To explain the influence of production tools and carriers on typeface.The third chapter describes the changes brought about by the digital media tool to the font design.From the improvement of efficiency,the transformation of thinking,the change of design process to carry out the discussion.The fourth chapter expounds the present situation of re-carved font design.Through the interview method to understand the design ideas of re-carved fonts,and summed up the thinking of current domestic re-carved font design.Through the investigation of the application of re-carved fonts to found problems.The fifth chapter analyzes the new requirements of digital technology context for font design from the perspective of digital reading media and application scale.Using the book of the Yuan Dynasty "E Guo Jin Tuo Zu Bian" as the starting point of design,begin the experiment of text font design,explore the new idea of traditional font redesign.The last chapter is the conclusion,reaffirming the importance of the breakthrough change of traditional engraving text in the digital technology environment,meanwhile puts forward of the font design.
