Research On The Cultural Conflict Between Chinese Tourists And The Residents Of Mandalay, Myanmar

Since the reform and opening up of the Myanmar government in 2011,tourists from all over the world have come to visit Myanmar.As neighbors,China and Myanmar have a lot of trade and economic exchanges,and their people are also close to each other.In recent years,more and more Chinese tourists have traveled to myanmar due to the visa relaxation in myanmar.Last October,the government also implemented the visa-on-arrival policy for Chinese tourists to visiting Myanmar.Therefore,the number of Chinese tourists visiting myanmar is increasing.In the process of tourism,if you do not understand the culture of the destination country,it is more likely to occur cultural inadaptation and cultural conflict.Specifically,this article takes Chinese tourists and residents of Mandalay city in myanmar as research objects,and obtains first-hand data through the distribution of questionnaires on the spot and online.Then,based on SPSS 23.0 and using a variety of mathematical analysis methods to analyze the data,it is found that the factors causing cultural conflicts among Chinese tourists visiting Mandalay city are that myanmar’s behavior,etiquette,living habits and religious beliefs have a significant impact,but cultural taboos have no significant impact on Chinese tourists.However,the reason why the mandalay residents of myanmar do not adapt to the foreign culture of Chinese tourists is that the behavior of Chinese tourists in public places and the eating habits of Chinese tourists also make it difficult for the residents of myanmar to adapt to it,which leads to cultural conflicts.In the research sense,theoretically,based on the relevant theories of cultural conflicts,discusses tourists’ overall perception of cultural conflict and the influencing factors of cultural conflict.On the other hand,from the perspective of Burmese residents,this paper discusses their general perception of cultural conflicts and the influencing factors of cultural conflicts.In practice,as China’s tourists gradually increased,due to cultural differences caused by cultural conflict behavior more and more,so in this research for the tourist culture conflict put forward practical and feasible solution,can effectively improve the sino-burma friendship and cultural exchange between the two countries,as well as cross-cultural conflicts of tourism research and provides some reference significance of sustainable development of tourism in Myanmar.
