Research On The Practical Value Of Sight Singing And Ear Training Concert

Sight-singing and ear training is a foundation course of all music majors.It's main object is to improve the comprehensive music ability through sight-singing training and ear training.In 1988,the first sight-singing concert was held in China Conservatory of Music organized by Professor Sun Hong in order to show the teaching results and test students' comprehensive music practice ability.In the 30 years since then,Specialized music(or arts)universities and colleges and General colleges and universities learn in succession and hold sight-singing concerts of different sizes.Now,sight-singing concert has been held with general development in the range of the whole country,from the content to the form,there are various.The fundamental purpose of holding sight-singing concert is to train students' comprehensive music ability in music understanding and music expression and music creation through musical selection and adaptation and creating through students' personal practice.In recent years,I watched several sight-singing concerts live and I found some questions of what the purpose of the event was not clear enough.With theses questions I make some further thinking.What the purpose of holding sight-singing concert actually?And what is the practical value to students?So this paper is based on a practitioner and a bystander and discusses the practical value in improve the students' comprehensive music ability of holding the sight-singing concert for students from three aspects.The first question which this paper discusses is the characteristic of the sight-singing concert.The second question is dwelling on the value of holding sight-singing concert.The third question is prospects for development of the sight-singing concert.I hope this paper can cause people's attention and promote better practice.And I also hope that the sight-singing concert can better play a role in showcasing student's comprehensive music ability and also can laying the foundation for the future of the students in going to a bigger stage.
