Discussion And Research On Improving The Quality Of Chinese Translation Documents Of Composition Technology Theory

The demands for the qualified academic translation of musical theories are continuously increased along with the frequent cultural exchanges between China and the West in recent years.and interdisciplinary characteristics,which are two-fold——abilities of applying proficiently both Chinese and English languages and professional understandings on musical theories,might be the obstacles for such kind of translation.For the purpose of improving the quality of academic translation of musical theories,this paper adopts the reflective style of translation review with Text Type Theory proposed by Ressi(1977)and Four Strategies of Academic Translation proposed by Sun Zhouxing as a guide to analyze the translation projects titled "Modal Foul-Note Pitch Collections in the Music of Dvorak's American Period" and "The Expressive Role of Rhythm and Meter in Schumann's Late Lieder."and discovers and solves the problems of tenninology,grammar and syntax,and rhetoric via illustrations with excerpt-comparison between the first and final versions selected from the aforementioned articles.
