If Chinese learners want to learn Chinese well,they must have a deeper understanding of the connotation of Chinese culture.As a treasure of Chinese language and culture,folklore embodies the culture and wisdom of the nation.In the international promotion of Chinese,taking the folklore with strong interest as the carrier of culture teaching can not only stimulate the learning interest of Chinese learners,but also spread the cultural connotation contained in folklore better.This paper defines the folklore,analyses the genre characteristics of folklore,and on this basis,investigates the current application of folklore in the international promotion of Chinese.It was found that foreign students were very interested in the content of folklore.But there are very few texts and related exercises involving folklore subjects in these textbooks.,it was difficult to get access to this in their usual study.In order to solve this problem,studying the interaction between folklore and Chinese international teaching more systematically,we have classified a large number of folklore into four categories:1.legends with the subject of love;2.legends with the theme of shaping people's heroes;3.legends with various characters for typical images as themes;4.explanatory legends,from which representative chapters are selected to analyze the spiritual core they convey,and valuable suggestions on specific teaching of cultural content related to important folklore are put forward.According to these suggestions,we advocate that in the selection of folklore materials,the selected legends should possess certain pertinence and applicability with appropriate difficulties.In the implementation of folklore teaching,it is also necessary to provide learners with favorable conditions for cultural acquisition through experiential teaching,dialogue teaching and comparative teaching.This paper is to focus on the application of folklore in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,to investigate and analyze the current teaching situation of folklore,and to make a reasonable overall planning of folklore in view of specific problems,to select representative chapters to analyze the spiritual core of folklore,making folklore play its value and role in the international promotion of Chinese.
