Heidegger's Interpretation Of Kant's View Of Time

Among many interpreters of Kant’s philosophy,The unique point of Heidegger is that he discovered the ontological factors in Kant’s philosophy.This paper attempts to clarify that how does Heidegger elaborate the ontological factors in category of time.Focusing on this topic,this paper is going to state the process which Heidegger illustrated the concept of time in kant’s philosophy from three aspects of method,way and meaning.The first part of the paper mainly expounds the method which used by Heidegger.Heidegger mainly interprets the concept of time from the perspective of phenomenology and ontology.Heidegger systematically expound three discoveries of phenomenology which are intentionality,intuition of category and the original meaning.It is possible for people to recognize the abstract categories from the perspective of phenomenology,so people can see the face of time for the fist time.At the same time,Heidegger regarded ontology as a method of understanding.In view of Heidegger,metaphysics is equivalent to practical hermeneutics.Through the steps of "encounter","watch","grasp" and "concept expression",the structure of consciousness discovered by phenomenology is clearer here.The second part of this paper mainliy illastrate the process of Heidegger’s interpretation to the concept of time.The interpretation about time was important part which Heidegger illastrated Kant’s critical philosophy.Heidegger believed that Kant’s understanding about metaphysics was traditionally which metaphysics was the first principle of human knowledge.Kant’s understanding about metaphysics determined his understanding to time.In Kant’s view,time was regarded as the element of cognitive ability.In this way,Kant transformed Newton’s external time into his internal time.Therefore,Kant put man at the center of critical philosophy.Heidegger affirmed Kant’s exploration about human’s cognitive ability.He believed that Kant’s work was to lay a foundation for metaphysics.However,Heidegger believed that the foundation for metaphysics should not be human knowledge,but human existence.Then,time was no longer the form of inner sensory perception,but the horizon of being.In this view,Heidegger lead Kanfs critical philosophy from epistemology to ontology.Heidegger’s criticism about Kant was that Kant missed the discussion of existence itself.Kant divided knowledge into perceptual knowledge and rational knowledge.The difficulty which Kant faced is how to combine perception with reason.Kant put forward the concept of transcendental imagination in critical philosophy.However Kant retreated in front of transcendental imagination,because Kant could not lay the foundation for imagination.Kant’s retreat shows that there are conflicts in Kant’s transcendental philosophy.In Heidegger’s view,Kant missed discussion about the Bing,that is to say,Kant’s discussion of human understanding,but Kant does not discuss human existence.The third part of the paper mainly elaborates the significance of Heidegger’s interpretation to Kant’s concept of time.It provides a new train of thought for Kant’s philosophical research,at the same time provides a way for people to undertand Heidegger’s philosophy of existence.
