The city is an important space for modern society.The rapid advancement of China's urbanization process has promoted the progress of urban research.This paper will focus on the construction of Guangzhou's urban image through the analysis of the eight-year dynamic history of Guangzhou city propaganda film from the perspective of space theory and semiotics,with the aim of the Guangzhou City Propaganda Film from 2010 to 2018.This paper takes 2010 as the starting point of research,based on the following considerations: First,since the Beijing Olympics,building a national image has become an important government work.Under this background,each city is actively trying to construct its own city image;It was the 16 th Asian Games held in Guangzhou in 2010.This year has become an important time node for Guangzhou to go out of the country and go global.Third,since 2010,Guangzhou city propaganda film has shown a dynamic process of changing the image of the city.The difference in the change in time dimension has become the focus of research.This paper mainly discusses the following aspects from the following aspects: The first part starts from the material space of Guangzhou and discusses the image of Guangzhou presented by the city propaganda film in the material space.The image of the commercial city created by the city propaganda film with the help of the landscape has been weakened,and the cultural city and the ecological city have become the new symbols of Guangzhou.The second part starts from “people”,analyzes the characteristics of the “promoter” of the city propaganda film,and focuses on the shaping of the city's image.The inundation and return of the citizens in the city propaganda film has become increasingly prominent,and the public has become more and more present.The third part demonstrates the image of the city and its evolution.In the construction of the second space and the concept city of the heterotopia,the city image plays an important role.Through the dialectical analysis of the two images “Sheep” and “Flower” of Guangzhou city,the concept city is constantly evolving—from the city of the local region to the world city under globalization,from focusing on the city identity to promoting the city spirit.At the same time,the full text always uses the time dimension as the yardstick to conduct a vertical comparison of the Guangzhou city propaganda film and clarify its evolution process.In short,urban propaganda films use audiovisual language to build an ideal city.From the perspective of space production,urban space reconstructs people's imagination of the city in constant deconstruction.Since 2010,the Guangzhou city propaganda film is in a dynamic trend,and its form and content are constantly being updated.Guangzhou has moved from the local to the world.The material space in Guangzhou has been repeatedly dismantled,selected,and reorganized.The urban wonders have gradually weakened,and the cultural connotation of the city has been emphasized.The citizens have been submerged by the urban wonders to become the narrative subject,and the inner narrative mode gives the citizens more room for expression;“Sheep” and “Flower”,from the locality of identity to the romantic capital in the context of internationalization,the image of the concept city is no longer trapped in the region,the urban spirit has become the only magic weapon to attract cross-cultural people.The dynamic construction of Guangzhou's urban image is an active choice under the influence of national development,and it is also an inevitable choice for its continuous deepening of the world.
