The Creation Report Of The Oil Painting "Peking Opera Characters" Series

Peking Opera is an important part of Chinese traditional opera.A long-lasting ari a,a vigorous appearance and a colorful facial makeup not only embody the exquisite s kills and unique charm of Peking Opera,but also contain the beauty of Peking Opera characters.This paper focuses on the four major professions of Peking Opera characte rs,namely,Sheng(male roles),Dan(female roles),Jing(roles with painted faces)and C hou(a comic character).Through extracting the elements of costumes and facial make up of those four characters above-mentioned and borrowing the Image Expression of painter Yan Ping and the color structure of Dunhuang frescoes for reference,this pape r uses the form of "freehand brushwork" oil painting to express the inner romantic cha rm of Peking Opera characters in different scenes of different professions as far as pos sible through the description of gorgeous costumes and modeling.
