There are a large number of personal pronouns in Thai,so the meaning division is very fine and cannot be interchanged arbitrarily, but different personal pronouns also have meaningful overlap. At the same time, different personal pronouns can have different semantic connotations according to different contexts.Due to historical and social reasons, the use of pronouns in Thai can reflect the identity of the speaker. Therefore, the Thai speaker can reflect power intimacy and other variables of the tenor of the discourse. In order to achieve the purpose of communication, the switching is inevitable. We can understand the relationship between interlocutors and the current context better from the switching, and make appropriate personal choices. This paper uses the tenor theory, which reflects the role relationship between speakers,as a guide.Through the systematic description of the tenor variables of Thai person system and the analysis of the switching of Thai personal pronouns in communication, this paper explores the change of power, intimacy and other variables embodied in the pronoun switching in Thai and the impact of the change on the communicative relationship. The full text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the question and research significance, literature review, the research scope, the research methods and the source of the corpus. The second chapter is an overview of the tenor of the Thai person system, trying to clarify the usage of each person.Using the tenor theory in systemic functional linguistics to explain the various social factors embodied in each address term;the third chapter is the description and analysis of the pronouns switching phenomenon in Thai language. This chapter considers the switching of Thai pronouns as a kind of Code-switching,and sorting the pronouns markedness chart according to the markedness model theory;the fourth chapter is the conclusion and outlook. This paper believes that the conversion of personal pronouns in Thai language can maintain the relationship between the two parties, such as selecting the personal pronouns with the same level of markedness of the tenor variables;it can also promote or alienate the relationship between the two parties, and reflect the specific communicative effects, such as selecting pronouns with strong markedness of the tenor variables. In communication,if the two speakers are unfamiliar, the two sides will often choose the pronouns with weak markedness of the tenor variables or omit the personal pronoun. After the relationship between the two parties is determined in the temptation,it is decided whether to change the person form to change the tenor.Dynamically, the Thai pronouns are placed into a specific context for observation. The interactive study of personal pronouns and other person forms in communication and the systematic study of the conversion of personal pronouns can explain the use conditions of Thai personal pronouns more comprehensively, locate the relationship between the two sides of the communication, and make the use of personal pronouns in Thai language more clear, and also help the translation of personal pronouns and other address terms.
