The original text of this translation practice report is taken from a sport-related scientific English text named Running Form: How to Run Faster and Prevent Injury Learning.Correct sports not only can strengthen people's physique and enrich cultural life,but also inspire national spirits and patriotisms.There are great differences in thinking,linguistic form and expression habits between English and Chinese.Compared with Chinese sentences,English sentences are more complex.In addition,most scientific texts elaborate objective facts which require the translation to be concise,straightforward and easy to understand.Besides,translator should consider the coherence of the context to get the accurate and understandable translation.For the translation of the thesis,the author applies appropriate translation methods,such as level shifts,structure shifts,class shifts and unit shifts.At the same time,a large number of examples are selected to prove it by referring to the existing theoretical basis of translation transformation.This report is written in the following order.The first part is a brief introduction to the source text;the second part is an introduction of the translation process;the third part is about translation method and demonstration of examples;the last part is the summary and inspiration of this translation practice.This report summarizes and demonstrates several translation methods for the scientific text in order to explore the appropriate methods for scientific and technological texts.In the process of translation,it is necessary to ensure the accuracy and scientificity of the translation.And the target text should be close to the original text and conform to the expression habit of the target language readers.
