This article combines the life story of Luo Dajing and the background of his life. The main purpose of this article is to explore the concern and comment on the atmosphere of seeking interest in HeLinyulu, and his advocacy of Confucian morality restricting people's desires.in this way,we can understand the main idea of the way of running a country in the whole notebook, and to appreciate the feelings of Luo Dajing as a scholar of Confucianism who cares about the country and the people,so as to see a silhouette of the scholar-bureaucrat of Song Dynasty from him.Luo Dajing served as a military officer in Fuzhou and a judicial officer in Rongzhou, although the official position is small, but this did not affect that he was keen to pay attention to the society in which he lived. As a scholar-bureaucrat,Luo Dajing heard and saw the atmosphere of seeking interest and social chaos brought about by it.He talked about many times in HeLinyulu and was distressed by the bad academic atmosphere and the unhealthy scholar spirit. But this is not all. While meeting many scholars who drift with the tide,Luo Dajing also touched many people who still adhere to Confucian gentleman's personality cultivation in bad morality. When Luo Dajing lived in his hometown,Jishui,Luling. The experience of communicating with the noble scholar-bureaucrats made Luo Dajing feel that the cultivation of the gentleman's personality is very important. He hoped that the scholar-bureaucrats could improve their personality cultivation, restrain selfish desires, not be contaminated in the face of bad social ethos, and shoulder the important task of building a harmonious society. The first chapter of this paper focuses on Luo Dajing's criticism of tenuous and utilitarian learning style. The first section deals with the purpose, method and content of reading, that is,there were phenomena of utilitarian reading, reading Song-dynasty philosophers' quotations rather than Confucian classics, rough and stereotyped reading. The second section deals with the stylization of scholar's composition.Luo Dajing holds that scholar's composition emphasizes the importance of the text rather than the Confucian's principle, and has no ancient significance. The second chapter mainly introduces Luo Dajing's satire on the common practice of abandoning morality to pursue interest in Song Dynasty. In Luo Dajing's view, the morality of scholars in Song Dynasty was weakened and declined, resulting in the unhealthy morality of greed, seeking of fame and interest, being content with temporary ease and comfort, attaching bigwigs.Chapter three introduces the bad influence of the social ethos of seeking interest on society. In the first section, starting from the influence of bad social ethos on social customs.Luo Dajing noticed that under the influence of the social greed and profit-seeking atmosphere in Song Dynasty, the geomancy in Song Dynasty showed new characteristics, and the people of Song Dynasty actually sought profits in the name of filial piety.Section 2 starts from the alienation of social evaluation criteria.Luo Dajing points out that the people judges a person's value through the acquisition of official position and wealth instead of his moral character. The third section talks about the change of methods of conducting oneself in the Song Dynasty. In a society where villains were in charge and the world was corrupt, compromise and concession, smooth and sophisticated way of life prevails, and even weak-willed intellectuals changed their ways and went with the world.Chapter four introduces Luo Dajing's advocacy of morality in the face of unhealthy ways and customs, the proposition of cultivating gentleman's personality. The first section talks about the spiritual power of gentleman's personality on human beings.Luo Dajing believes that a perfect gentleman's personality will stick to their heart and not be contaminated by unhealthy social ethos, that is to say,to restrict interest with morality.Section 2 summarizes the connotative characteristics of the gentleman's personality in Luo Dajing's mind, that is,the gentleman should not only have a broad mind of worrying about the world, but also pursue the free and easy of individual spirit. The third section elaborates on the practical methods of cultivating gentleman's personality in Luo Dajing's mind.He advocates that scholars should read sages' books, thinking reason in vivid scenes, away from selfishness and desire, and absorb essence from Buddhism to help Confucianism being more perfect,so as to continuously improve the gentleman's personality.cultivate morality, and then serve the people. The whole article focuses on Luo Dajing's discussion of the social ethos of seeking interest and his support of Confucian morality,in order to understand the social problems in Song Dynasty under the situation of internal and external troubles as well as under the impact of commercial economy.Furthermore, through the appeal of Luo Dajing to cultivate and improve the personality of gentlemen.we can understand the hope of Luo Dajing to establish a better social order and better feel
