Changchun FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. Personnel Optimization Project Interpretation Practice Report

Nowadays,due to the increasing communication and cooperation of China's automobile manufacturing industry with foreign automobile enterprises,translators have greater responsibility in this two-way communication than ever.This report is based on the writer's interpreting practice in FAW-VW Changchun from August to November in2019.Under the guidance of interpretive theory,the writer divides the interpreting process into three stages: discourse interpretation,de-verbalization and reformulation.According to the practice corpus,the writer analyzes the interpreting problems and difficulties in the three stages: German expert's accent problem,number hearing problem,loss of interpreter's short-term memory,processing of long and difficult sentences,information redundancy in translation and non fluent pauses in translation.The writer also puts forward the corresponding strategies: long-term listening training,shadow reading,reorganization of logic,segmentation of long sentences,omission,transliteration and literal translation.Finally,the writer summarizes the achievements and shortcomings in the interpreting practice,and hopes that in the future the writer will not only improve her translation skills,but also help other beginning interpreters to understand the translation problems in automobile industry.
