This text is selected from chapter two of the environmental science book The Uninhabitable Earth.This paper mainly expounds that climate warming will lead to high heat death,hunger,drowning and other adverse effects.This text is a popular science reading,which belongs to the information-type text,and it should mainly transmit information.Therefore,the author will analyze and summarize the text from three aspects of vocabulary,syntax and discourse under the guidance of Skopos Theory.The case analysis mainly discusses the translation of vocabulary,sentence order adjustment,the processing of dashes and the translation of discourse coherence.The author hopes that this translation practice can enhance people's understanding of the adverse effects of climate change,and at the same time provide reference and guidance for professionals who study environmental science.
