Children's social adaptation is of great significance to individual growth,which is affected by both internal and external factors.On the one hand,as an important indicator of family environment,family socioeconomic status has a direct and indirect impact on the development of children's social adaptability.On the other hand,the development of early childhood self-control is the basis of their successful adaptation to society.Therefore,this study chooses family socioeconomic status and children's self-control as a point of penetration to study the development of children's social adaptation,to understand the relationship between them,and further discuss the role of self-control in family socioeconomic status and children's social adaptation.In this study,406 children aged 3?6 and their parents from three kindergartens in Xi'an were selected as the research objects.The situation of family socioeconomic status,children's social adaptation and self-control are investigated by using the methods of questionnaires and interviews,and analyses the relationship among them,tests the mediating role of children's self-control between family socioeconomic status and children's social adaptation.The conclusions are as follows:1.There are significant differences in the development of social adaptation among children aged 3-6 years in demographic variables.The level of children's social adaptation development increases with age.At the same age,girls have better social adaptability than boys.Compared with the only child,the non-only child's social adaptability develops better.2.There are significant differences in the development of self-control ability among children aged 3-6 years in demographic variables.The level of children's self-control development increases with age.At the same age,girls have better self-control ability than boys.Compared with the only child,the non-only child's self-control ability develops better.3.There are significant differences in children's social adaptation and self-control development among families with different socioeconomic status.The socioeconomic status of the family directly affects the level of children's social adaptation and self-control.The higher socioeconomic status of the family,the better development of children's social adaptation and self-control.4.Family socioeconomic status is positively correlated with children's social adaptation and self-control.The better the parent's occupation,education level and income level,the better the social adaptation and the stronger the self-control of the children.Children's self-control is positively correlated with social adaptation.The stronger the self-control of young children,the more likely their social adaptation is in good shape.5.Family socioeconomic status significantly positively predicts the level of children's social adaptation and self-control,and the development of children's self-control ability significantly positively predicts their social adaptation.6.Children's self-control plays a part of mediating role between family socioeconomic status and children's social adaptation.Children's consciousness,delayed gratification and impulse inhibition play a complete mediating role between mother's educational level,monthly income and children's social adaptation.Children's persistence plays a complete mediating role between mother's monthly income and children's social adaptation,and plays a part of mediating role between mother's occupation and children's social adaptation.Mother's occupation,education level and income level not only directly affect children's social adaptation,but also indirectly influence through the mediating role of children's self-control.Based on the conclusions of the study,the following suggestions are put forward:1.Parents should constantly renew their educational concepts and attach importance to the development of children's social adaptation;2.Parents should improve the way of rearing and consciously guide the development of children's self-control ability;3.Parents should try their best to enrich family material and cultural capital and create conditions for children's good development;4.Kindergartens should make use of educational advantages and attach importance to home-kindergarten cooperation;5.Kindergartens should guide the development of children's social adaptability through various ways.
