Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and China, cultural exchanges have been ever increasing, and Chinese readers are increasingly interested in reading Korean literature, thereby creating the need to find, translate, and present quality works to Chinese readers, with the added bonus of promoting exchanges in the literary field between the two countries. With the passage of time, the demand from readers for quality translation has also increased. In order to improve the quality of translation and meet the high demands of readers, translators should not only conduct their translation practice under the guidance of the scientific translation theory, but also analyze and reflect on the translation process and resulting work,by which they can sum up useful translation methods, experience and lessons which are helpful for future translations. This is how this article was written. This thesis is a translation report of the South Korean novel(?)which won the Lee Sang Literature Award in 2019.The translation process was guided by the "functional equivalence" theory put forward by American scholar Eugene A.Nida and the "domestication and foreignization" theory put forward by American scholar Lawrence Venuti. The report consists of three chapters. The first chapter mainly focuses on introducing the novel and the author, with the aim of explaining the goals of translation and the theories applied to the translation process, while the second chapter,as the central part of this report, consists of specific case analyses about the translation text. The last chapter summarizes the experience gained by this translation. Both the original text and the translation text have been attached to the end of the report.
