Research On The Cultural Memory Of The Jining Section Of The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal

The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal condenses the wisdom of the Chinese nation and witnesses China's long history and splendid culture.The state has actively advocated the protection and utilization of the cultural resources of the Grand Canal,and proposed the construction of the Grand Canal cultural belt.The general secretary Xi Jinping indicated that efforts should be made to better preserve,carry forward and use heritages and explore the cultural resources of the Grand Canal.In the context of the national inheritance and promotion for the Grand Canal culture,the sustainable development of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal can be promoted only by maintaining cultural memory and continuing historical venation of the Grand Canal,then the effective interaction between the protection and utilization of the Grand Canal heritage and social development can be realized.Cultural memory of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is rich in content and complex in composition.Cultural memory of the Jining section of the Grand Canal and cultural memory of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal are the connection between personality and commonality.The purpose of studying cultural memory of the Jining section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is to provide a reference for the protection and utilization of the cultural resources where around the Grand Canal,to promote the construction of the Grand Canal cultural belt,to deepen the identity of the Grand Canal culture,and to exert the contemporary value of the Grand Canal.Based on this,the paper elaborated from three aspects,including cultural memory carrier,cultural memory change and cultural memory representation of the Jining section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal,which mean extracting cultural memory,expounding the change of cultural memory,and then putting forward the scheme of cultural memory representation of the Jining section of the Grand Canal.Firstly,cultural memory is extracted from cultural memory carriers such as written records,cultural heritage and memory groups related to the Jining section of the Grand Canal.Then,it selects the key elements of cultural memory,including the experienced time,symbolized space,related groups and forgotten events,and focuses on cultural memory changes of the Jining section of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Cultural memory of the Jining section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal covers a wide range,therefore,each aspect selects the representative contents of cultural memory according to the characteristics of the Jining section of the Grand Canal,which involving the ritual beliefs ofriver god,the spatial canal blocks,and the expanding memory groups and the forgotten hydro-junction of the Grand Canal.The ultimate goal is to protect and utilize the cultural resources and exert the contemporary value of the Grand Canal culture which by exploring the carriers and change of cultural memory of the Jining section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.Therefore,it is particularly critical to put forward the programs of the representation of cultural memory of the Grand Canal under the contemporary social framework.The representation of cultural memory of the Jining section of the Grand Canal is divided into two parts: the renewal of cultural memory of the Jining section of Grand Canal,and the shaping of cultural memory of the Grand Canal cultural belt.The specific measures include the transformation of the historical writing,the effective use of cultural heritage,and the protection and reconstruction of cultural district of the Jining section of the Grand Canal,as well as telling good stories with characteristics of the Jining section of the Grand Canal and constructing the national cultural park for the Jining section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.Through these measures,cultural memory will be transformed from stored memory to functional memory,strengthen the protection and utilization of the cultural resources of the Grand Canal,as well as bring back to life cultural heritage of the Grand Canal and promote the sustainable development of the Grand Canal.
