Research On The Female Images In Kenji Miyazawa's Fairy Tales

The Japanese writer Kenji Miyazawa created more than 100 colorful fairy tales in his short 37-year career.Among which,54 feature 101 female characters.the 101 female characters in 54 fairy tales are impressive.The study of female characters in literary works has always attracted much attention.This study choose 101 women in 100 fairy tales of "the[new] Miyazawa Kenji zenshu [Japanese Edition] " as the the research objects.Based on the previous studies,Using the method of text analysis,From the perspectives of married and unmarried,this study examines the female images in Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tales.On the basis of previous studies,this thesis studies the female images in Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tales from the perspectives of married and unmarried.Secondly,by adopting the perspective of feminism,this study analyzes the causes of female images through the investigation of historical materials.The main conclusions of this study are as follows.(1)married female image.The images of married women in Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tales can be summarized into the following three categories.The first is women with traditional virtues.They are either a thrifty housewife,or a hard-working village woman,or a selfless mother.The second category is women who with a personality deficit.For example,a woman who obeys her husband's wife,a women who has no idea of her own,and a women who is bullied but lacks the sense of resistance.The third group refers to chronically ill,sickly and helpless women.(2)unmarried female image.The images of unmarried women in Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tales are abundant,which can be summarized into the following four categories.One is the beautiful woman,which includes beautiful young women and lovely young girls.The second is the woman with a good personality.Among them,there are tender and shy women,young women who bravely overcome difficulties and face love,and innocent and lively girls.The third refers to the rich and noble women.The forth is the women who encounter with the family of separation,love bumpy,and life is extremely miserable woman.(3)The causes of female image.The above female image is mainly reflected into three aspects.First,the influence of the feudal ideology of male superiority and female inferiority under the "patriarchy" and the social culture such as "Educational concept of a dutiful wife and loving mother".Second,five impressive and contact frequently women Kenji Miyazawa,namely its parent Ichi,his sisterToshi,first love Takahashi nurses,and the influence of two women in emotional experience,namely Hata and Ito.Thirdly,Kenji Miyazawa's insistence on beautiful things,his preference for beauty,his happiness view of self-sacrifice for the sake of true happiness and the happiness of all mankind.All above generate a great influence on him.Among them,the married women image was mainly influenced by social and cultural factors,as well as Kenji Miyazawa happiness and her mother Ichi effect;The image of unmarried female image was mainly influenced by its sister Toshi,first love Takahashi nurses,three women in emotional experience and its aesthetic effect.
