Communication strategy is an important part of learning strategy,and using communication strategy correctly can promote the progress of learners in communication.Foreign scholars have carried out tremendous researches on communication strategy successively since the 1970 s.However,domestic researches on communication strategy started in the 1990 s,which centered on the communication strategy used by Mandarin learners in learning foreign language and the communication strategy used by foreign learners in learning Chinese in recent years.The research results show that most scholars hold that communication strategy is of great help for the second language learners to enhance their oral communication level and is one of the topics worth discussing for the TCSL teaching circle in recent years.But few researches on Chinese learners in the non-Chinese context are conducted at present.Based on the theory of communication strategy and the method of practice research,the study takes the Mandarin learners in UbonRatchathani Vocational College as research objects and carries out the teaching practice of communication strategy training on them so as to find the answers to the following three questions.(1)What are the status quo of the communication strategy using in UbonRatchathani Vocational College?(2)Whether can the communication strategy training improve the communicative competence in the TCSL class?(3)What teaching implications can be proposed after this practice research?This study consists of three parts:Firstly,the research method of literature review is used to summarize the domestic and overseas scholars' researches on communication strategy,and the method of communication strategy training proposed by them is referred.Secondly,the teaching practice of communication strategy training is conducted in the TCSL class.This teaching practice is divided into three stages with different communication tasks,in which the learners complete their communication tasks while the teacher's guide them to practice the communication strategy to assist communication.In each stage,the teachers will evaluate the oral communication level of the learners to provide basis for formative evaluation.Besides,two questionnaires and some individual interviews are conducted to analyze the application situation of communication strategy.And the oral communication level and communication strategy application ability of learners before and after the teaching practice are compared in order to discuss whether the application of communication strategy training in TCSL class will be helpful for enhancing the oral communication level of the elementary Mandarin learners.Finally,on the basis of analysis and reflection on the teaching practice process and result,some methods of using communication strategy in oral Chinese are proposed for the learners,such as having correct understanding of communication strategy,using and selecting positive communication strategy activity and so on.Moreover,some thoughts and suggestions on oral communication strategy training in TCSL teaching are raised for teachers,such as strengthening their own training on communication strategy,cultivating the learners' awareness in using communication strategy,focusing on the communication strategy training of students and instructing students to avoid using negative communication strategy.
