Pragmatic competence is the core of communicative competence and a kind of social survival ability to get along with and cooperate with people.Nowadays,teachers gradually realize the importance of English pragmatic competence and pay more and more attention to the cultivation of pragmatic competence.Picture book teaching is an effective way to cultivate students' pragmatic ability.The original English picture book helps to create a real context,its social significance enables students to feel the language and culture,and the story content of the picture book increases students' language income.Teachers can effectively integrate the teaching content in the textbook with the English picture book,optimize the learning content of students,enhance the effectiveness of classroom teaching,and let students transform the language knowledge from "understanding" to "using",which is helpful to cultivate students' pragmatic competence.This study aims to solve the following problems:what constitutes pupils' pragmatic competence? How to choose the original English picture book suitable for Oxford Text book of primary school? How to integrate the content of Oxford Text book in primary schools to form appropriate teaching content?How to cultivate students' pragmatic competence in picture book teaching? What should we pay attention to in teaching? What are the teaching strategies?In the research process,I use the literature method to collect the domestic and foreign academic papers,works,journals and other literature about the use of English picture books to cultivate students' pragmatic ability,sort out and write a review,fully understand the current research trend of this topic,and find effective countermeasures.As a front-line teacher,I use the case analysis method to prepare lessons for the research topic in the follow-up class and research class,make classroom observation,timely record all kinds of helpful teaching cases;analyze the gains and losses of English picture book teaching activities and the use of strategies to cultivate pragmatic ability,and accumulate detailed practical research materials.In the process of picture book reading teaching,I use the action research method to go deep into the classroom,draw up a conclusion through making plans,carrying out actions,reflecting and summarizing,and how to cultivate students' pragmatic ability in the process of picture book teaching.Finally,I use the experience summary method to summarize and analyze the specific situation in the practice activities,so that it can besystematized and theorized,and become experience.I summarize and sort out the specific strategies of cultivating students' pragmatic ability relying on English picture books.In the research process of cultivating students' pragmatic competence based on picture book teaching,this study sums up three bases for choosing picture book:according to the characteristics of children,according to the teaching theme of teaching materials and according to the specific content of picture books.At the same time,teaching is carried out in combination with three links: preparation before reading,teaching procedures during reading and activities after reading.In the process of picture book reading,the students prepare for reading by presenting the theme,establishing the connection,reading the cover and introducing the background;in the process of teaching,the students' pragmatic understanding ability is cultivated by overall perception,strengthening input,problem guidance and identifying behavior;in the consolidation activities,the students' pragmatic expression ability is further cultivated by story reading,performance and continuation.In the teaching practice,four strategies of cultivating pragmatic competence based on English picture books are summarized: the strategies of discourse understanding,discourse expression,intercultural communication and evaluation.
