Logical reasoning ability is the core factor or basic element of individual intelligence.The test of logical reasoning ability also becomes the main way of intelligence test.As children have limited mastery of text symbols,their logical reasoning ability is generally measured by the Raven's Progressive Matrices(CPM or CRT).The Raven's Progressive Matrices adopts the form of progressive matrix,which presenting a 3×3 or 2×2 graph matrix,asking the subjects to reason and choose the answer according to the progressive rule of horizontal and vertical directions.It examines reasoning ability,which is the core of intelligence.Raven's Progressive Matrices extends from the adult test to the infant test,and is applied almost directly(except that the matrix size is reduced from 3×3 to 2×2).However,there are some aspects that could be improved in the Raven's Progressive Matrices for infants.Firstly,the Raven's Progressive Matrices take geometry as material,which is too abstract and not close to infants' daily life.Secondly,the test focuses on the result but not the process.This paper tries to develop a set of embodied progressive matrix test,and adopts the way of one-to-one interaction to investigate the whole process of reasoning,so as to make up for the deficiencies of the existing infants' logical reasoning test(mainly the Raven's Color Progressive Matrices).By consulting the literature and interacting with infants,the presentation and development principle of the test items were determined,that is,the common things in infants' daily life were selected to prepare the items,and the items were presented in the form of progressive matrix of Raven's Progressive Matrices.The tests are one-to-one,interactive and process-oriented,unlike the usual group tests that focus only on the results.Each item requires a relatively long time to complete.In view of this,the design of the preliminary test project in this study has gone through the process of repeated interaction test and improvement between the main test and the subjects,so as to ensure the quality of the initial test project.Then,through the preliminary test,project analysis to screen.Finally,the selected formal test was used to test the reliability and validity.The results showed that:The Embodied Interactive Progressive Matrix Test for Infants includes 18 items,and the test has good reliability and validityThe development of logical reasoning ability of infants aged 4-6 years wasinvestigated by self-designed test,and the influence of important internal and external factors on logical reasoning ability was discussed.According to Feuerstein,the living environment of infants is mediated by adults,so the parental intermediary activities is an important external factor affecting the development of infants' reasoning ability.The process of reasoning involves finding the logical connection from the condition,and it is necessary to suppress irrelevant clues.Therefor we assume that inhibition control is one of the internal factors of reasoning.68 infants aged 4-6 years were investigated by the self-designed “Embodied Interactive Progressive Matrix Test for Infants”,“parental intermediary activities questionnaire" and "inhibition control-color task"1.The development level of reasoning ability of infants aged 4-6 years is significantly different with age,and reasoning ability increases with age.2.The reasoning ability of infants aged 4-6 years has significant positive correlation with inhibition control and parental intermediary activities.3.Inhibition control and parental mediation positively predicted the development of infants' reasoning ability.
