| Genealogy is a historical document that records the pedigrees and personal deeds of blood-related families.The main content is the pedigree,industry,officialdom,and migration history of a family.These contents are relevant to local history,clan history,immigration history,ethnology,folklore It is an important source of information for many subject studies.Although Wanzhou is located in the southwestern interior,the popularization of the genealogy of the Ming and Qing dynasties made the genealogical documents of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China a lot.In addition to the new genealogical books after the founding of the People's Republic,the genealogical documents of the genealogy are abundant.There are more than 500 genealogies with more than 30 surnames.Fifteen Zhang,Xiang and Chen genealogies were collected from the Wanzhou District Archives this time.The time of revision involved the Qing Dynasty,the Republic of China and the founding of the Republic,and most of them were continuations genealogy.Through the analysis of the migration of 14 families in the 15 genealogies,most of their ancestors entered Hubei from Sichuan to buy real estate in the early Ming Dynasty.The migration of these families can provide a lot of evidence for the study of “Huguang Filling Sichuan” immigration in the early Ming Dynasty.By analyzing the content of the genealogy of the three surnames in the Wanzhou Archives,the genealogical system of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China was perfect,showing two important characteristics of the Chinese family tree.First,it contains extremely rich content,not only a family encyclopedia,but also a database of ancient Chinese culture.The second is the genealogy of the genealogy as a collection of books,pictures,history,tables,records,and biography.The content of the three genealogies newly repaired in modern times is simple,and the genealogy is the main content,which cannot represent the style and content of modern genealogy.Wanzhou is a small place.The genealogy here is a small family,the genealogy content is slightly insufficient.But to put it another way,this also reflects from the side of the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the popularization of genealogy and the repair of genealogy,as well as the identity of blood and family in the Chinese people.The clan reflected in the genealogy regulates clan behavior by formulating clan rules and clan training;using clan property as the economic basis,carrying out a series of clan activities to unite clan people;maintaining clan development with clan heads,clan heads,and chiefs as representatives.The study of ancient Chinese clan system provides detailed information and typical cases.Genealogy is an important part of local literature.The family history recorded in the genealogy can provide historical data for the study of local economy,population,people,and culture.The ancestral and generational migration recorded in the genealogy can show the most basic and true materials for the study of immigration history.Genealogy,as a symbol of the family,is closely linked to the interests of the family.This has caused the clan people to exaggerate or whitewash certain clan people or events in the family in order to improve the family reputation,which makes some of the content in the family tree seriously misrepresented.But we should also realize that most of the content of the family tree is still credible,and the value of the family tree cannot be totally neglected because of some untrue content.This requires us to refer to other literatures when using genealogical documents,to identify and verify from multiple sources,and to use credible materials,then genealogical documents can exert unique research value. |
