William James "perception" Concept Research

At present,the researches on William James' philosophy are more focused on his stream of thought,pragmatic view of truth and radical empiricism,while the researches on his theory of perception are less focused on cognitive relations,and there is no special arrangement for the researches on the concept of perception.That will perceive concept in the cognitive relation theory as the premise of an established,no emphatically pay attention to his perception of the concept and its internal structure and the basic role of the experience of the possible,therefore,the lack of clarity on this important concept,will let us have a significant deviation in understanding James' philosophy.Therefore,this paper will focus on James' concept of "perception",summarize the core connotation of this important concept on the basis of previous studies,and provide some clear theoretical basis for the discussion of James' theory of cognitive relations.In the author's opinion,James' greatest contribution is that he has given new meaning to the concept of "perception" in the traditional epistemology.Through the reinterpretation of perception and the subject and object of perceived behavior,perception will be liberated from the constraints of rationalism,and the restoration of perceived behavior plays an important role in the whole cognitive behavior.By reinterpreting perception and the subject and object of perceived behavior,he liberated perception from the shackles of rationalism and restored the important position of perceived behavior in the whole cognitive behavior.
